Cochabamba, Bolivia

Album: Cochabamba, Bolivia

Cochabamba is the third largest city in Bolivia and is where I spent 2 months learning Spanish. It has an amazing climate with constant blue sky during the days and a perfect temperature (at least while I was there :-))

Potosí

Album: Potosí

Potosì used to be a huge city, the biggest in South America, but with the decline of the mining there has shrunk to be just a town. There isn`t a lot there and it is high and cold!

Villa Tunari is a town between Cochabamba and Santa Cruz on the edge of the jungle. I have been there twice, once with the language school and another time with Chris and friends. The second time I ended up volunteering at the animal sanctuary there.

Santa Cruz

Album: Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is a city which is completely different to the rest of Bolivia. It is much more westernised and for this reason is one of my least favourite places in Bolivia...

El Carmen

Album: El Carmen

El Carmen is the small town where Melissa is volunteering for 2 years. It has a population of about 400 (80 families) and no running water, electricity or telephone. I have spent three weeks there in total in two visits.

Sucre

Album: Sucre

Sucre is one of the official capitals of Bolivia, sharing that status with La Paz. It is a very tranquil city, with lots of classical architecture, weather similar to Cochabamba and mountain biking!

San Javier is another of the Jesuit Mission towns north of Santa Cruz. I had a few hours there while waiting for a bus after leaving El Carmen.
